The Four Imams: Their Lives, Works and Schools of Jurisprudence
About this Book
This volume contains the English translation of the four books describing and analysing the life and work of the Imams who founded the four canonical schools of Sunni Islamic law.
These men are among Islam's greatest spiritual and intellectual figures. All four books were written in Arabic by the Egyption scholar Muhammed Abu Zahra, who succeeded admirably in producing a deatiled picture and analysis of the four madhabs and their founders, including their legal methodology and conclusions.
Today, largely because of ignorance or misunderstanding, millions of Muslims are derpirved of the benefits of adherence to a paricular madhab. There is also a great deal of futile disagreement amongst the believers.
In making Sheikh Abu Zahra's major study available in English for the first time, Dar Al Taqwa hopes and intends that it will help the process of healing the rifts and uniting the Muslim Ummah on the basis of mutual respect and understanding.
The Four Imams is a stimulating and enriching read for anyone interested in deepening their knowledge of Islam.
